Air Pollution Linked with Increased Austim Risk
A recent study indicates that women exposed to high levels of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) specifically during pregnancy, with an even higher risk during the third trimester, could double the risk of having a child with Autism compared to women with low exposure to particulate matter. According to researchers, the longer the woman is exposed to the particlate for, the greater the risk. This study was the first United States wide study that could link air pollution and Autism.
