Ormantine offers assistance to Attica, NY residents affected by the Hillcrest Glass Pile.
Ormantine USA donated samplers to the residents of Attica, a village in New York next to the Hillcrest glass recycling plant. Residents have had to endure months of horrible smells and thick soot raining down on them from the large pile of dirty glass piled outside of the plant. The samplers test for common landfill gases such as hydrogen sulfide, and will hopefully give the village an indication of what is being blow into their homes, how much, and whether or not it is a health risk.
